The Bay Area Team is always focused on giving back. A portion of every closed escrow goes to the Pacific Union Community Fund with the goal of making meaningful contributions to the communities in which we earn a living. If you have a charity that is important to you, we are happy to make a donation at the close of escrow to that charity instead. http://www.pacificunion.com/charities.
Jim Walberg is a cancer thriver. Because of his experience with cancer he is committed to help fund the research needed to find cures. Cycle for Survival's indoor team cycling events raise funds that are critical for rare cancer research. 100% of every donation to Cycle for Survival is directly allocated to research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center within six months of the events. The donations go to pioneering research and clinical trials, and have already led to new and better treatments for cancer patients worldwide.
One of the charities we support is the Peterson Family Foundation, bringing music therapy to children in need, which was founded in honor of Karen Peterson, Ann Marie's sister, who passed away in 2003 of Mesothelioma. Jeff Peterson, Karen's husband, and Kort and Eric Peterson, Karen's sons help run the foundation, which carries on Karen's legacy.
Started in 1975, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano stores and distributes donated and purchased perishable and nonperishable food items. We distribute food directly to low income people at community sites, and makes food available for other nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy and children. The Food Bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger.
