Giving Back

The Bay Area Team is always focused on giving back.  A portion of every closed escrow goes to "Home for a Home". Home For A Home is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization driven by the belief that a safe, solid home can be the catalyst to dramatic and positive change in people's lives. Currently, Home for a Home is partnering with organizations in Guatemala to construct simple, yet solid homes for families lacking adequate housing.

Jim is a cancer thriver, and Karlyn is committed to help find cures for cancer. Because of their experiences with cancer they are committed to help fund the research needed to find cures. Cycle for Survival's indoor team cycling events raise funds that are critical for rare cancer research. 100% of every donation to Cycle for Survival is directly allocated to research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center within six months of the events. The donations go to pioneering research and clinical trials, and have already led to new and better treatments for cancer patients worldwide.

One of the charities we support is the Peterson Family Foundation, bringing music therapy to children in need, which was founded in honor of Karen Peterson, Ann Marie's sister, who passed away in 2003 of Mesothelioma.  Jeff Peterson, Karen's husband, and Kort and Eric Peterson, Karen's sons help run the foundation, which carries on Karen's legacy.

Started in 1975, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano stores and distributes donated and purchased perishable and nonperishable food items. We distribute food directly to low income people at community sites, and makes food available for other nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy and children. The Food Bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger.
